Two Halves of a Whole
The mindset + knowledge combination for optimal weight and health in your 50s—and beyond
This webinar is the culmination of a lifelong study of what keeps a body strong and well. At 54, I maintain my weight without willpower and live drug-free—six years at a stretch without so much as a cold. I can't promise you my results. I can share what I've learned, so you can reach your own optimum.
I'll also make a claim that goes beyond most NLP.
NLP rightly targets the first obstacle to lifestyle change: the old programming that keeps overriding what you know—the reason knowing better has never once made you eat better. But there's a second obstacle mindset work can't touch: much of the mainstream guidance on diet and weight is simply a bad map. And a cooperative mindset following a bad map still ends up lost.
The central idea
You need both halves—an accurate map, and the programming that lets you follow it. Either one alone leaves the problem intact.
What to look forward to
- The food pyramid was a great guide to ill health
- “Eat less, move more” never works—and the reason why explains most failed diets
- “Everything in balance” is terrible advice unless you know what belongs in the mix
- Calories are way down the list of things that matter when approaching food
- The meaning of food: how what eating does for you decides what you eat, long before willpower gets a vote
- …and more

About this session
The hard part is rarely knowing what you think. The hard part is saying it when the room has a mood, the relationship matters, and part of you is already calculating the cost.
This webinar looks at what happens before you speak: the meaning you give the moment, the state that follows, the self-protection strategy that takes over, and the behaviour that becomes automatic.
Past events and recordings
As more webinars are recorded, they will be added here so this page becomes a growing library rather than a single event announcement.
Speaking Your Mind Without Losing the Relationship
A session on honest disagreement, social pressure, self-censorship, and saying what you actually think while keeping the relationship intact.
The Good News About Depression
A session examining the limits of the simple chemical-imbalance story and exploring the meanings, losses, states, and recurring patterns that can help keep one kind of depression in place.
What pattern would you like to work on?
Pattern Shift events are built around real situations: conversations you avoid, reactions you regret, patterns you understand intellectually but still repeat, and moments where the old response appears before choice does.
Want to work with a pattern directly?
Watching a webinar can give you a clearer map. A consultation is where we look at your specific pattern: what keeps happening, what you would like instead, and whether Pattern Shift is the right fit.
